Payment Options

To pay with cash, check, or money order bring your payment to the front desk in the Municipal Office from 8:00am – 4:00pm daily . There is also a 24-hour drop box slot located between the front doors at Municipal building. You can also mail it to us at Town of Eaton P.O. Box 218 Eaton, IN 47338. You can also use a credit or debt card (3% convenience charge) in the office or over the phone (765) 396-3980. You can also use the pay your bill link at the top of the home page. On paygov.us it is listed under City of Eaton.

Bad Check Charges

Payments which are dishonored either by check, money order or credit card will be treated as a nonpayment. A return payment charge of $27.50 will be added to each account. If this dishonored amount is not paid promptly, the water will be shut off and a $40.00 re-connection fee will be added to the account. Both of the above charges must be paid before services will be restored.

Due Dates

Utility bills are mailed out on the last business day of the month before. Bills are due on the 15th of the month. If the 15th falls on the weekend, the bills need to be in the drop box before 8am that following Monday morning.

Late Notice

If utility bills are not paid by the due date, late fees will be assessed as followed: Water 10% of the first $3.00 and 3% of the balance, Wastewater 10% of balance, Sanitation 10% of balance and Stormwater 10% of balance.

Disconnection for Non-Payment

If account is not paid by the due date and is two months past due it will be turned off for non-payment. To get service reconnected the full balance will need to be paid along with the reconnect fee of $40.00.

Meter Tampering

No one should open the water meter pits to turn the water on or off. Town employees are the only individuals authorized to turn the water on and off. If you tamper in any way with the meter or the radio read equipment there is a $100.00 fine. Please see our Town menu, ordinances then water meter tampering.

After Hours Water Emergencies

Call the Police Department at (765)396-3297. If no one answers , call (765)747-7878 and ask the dispatcher to have the officer on duty call you right away. The officer will get a hold of a town employee.
